I have a question: Every time I try to upload a picture from my digital camera and add it as an attachment to one of my posts, the little window in the attachment manager won't allow me, telling me that the file is too big. 100 kb max. How do I get around that? Is there some way to make my digital photos smaller or something by manipulating the process?

I see other people seem to upload pix of their bikes and such, but I am never able.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, you need to make your photo smaller somehow. You can use a piece of software on your local computer like irFanView (google it..it's free) or upload the picture to a site like http://resizr.com/ that will do it for you.

You could also upload the picture to a site like flickr.com that will host it and then just link to the picture there.

Picasa is a free program from Google that will also make digital pictures smaller for e-mail purposes. 50 kb or less is a nice size.

Use microsoft photo editor and reduce the size of your photos. Oh, and do us all a favor ... insert them as thumbnails, not as the full-sized thing. There's nothing worse than opening a thread and only being able to see the upper left corner of an absolutely massive photo .... or having to wait forever for the photo to load. I don't know about others, but if there are full-sized photos in threads, I close the thread and rarely ever return to it again. I don't have the time and can't be bothered.
