Hello.

Found this site while looking for venues to post some bikes for sale before a move from WA to SC. Great site!

I'm primarily a road rider and looking forward to getting back to riding in the South. We lived in Columbia for 8 years before moving to the PNW. I miss the heat! Although I will miss the track and the mountains here around Seattle, I won't miss the rain. :D

Looking forward to getting back to my cycling friends in Cola. Any Columbia SC riders here? Can you still ride through Ft. Jackson with relative ease?

Hello PeterD, leaving beautiful Redmond for Columbia? I know I would be the reverse of you--I hate the heat, love the rain!

You might want to check out the Southeast regional forum, as I don't know how many members live in Columbia. There's got to be a few, though.

Welcome to BF!

Welcome back to the Carolinas. There are at least a couple of riders on here that are in Columbia. A post in the SE regional forum re: Fort Jackson would surely get answered.

Do you remember how hot it actually is?? :D March-May are really, really nice, tho.

We will miss this area, but we're moving for a great job to an area with good friends. You never know where the road leads so you just keep riding.

Oh yeah I remember the heat...my very first ride in SC was a hot July day, I was going up Dixie Rd. and had to pull over to sit in the shade. I fell asleep for 45 minutes! I'm always cold here though. I tell my friends that the best thing about the South is that you lose 10 pounds because it's too hot to heat, and your skin is clear because you're always sweating.
