I raced the Marymoor velodrome last night for the first time in 20 years. I got a second in the miss and out (one of my favorite races). Was just a little bit rusty. There were 3 Canadaian greese on the infield during the warm up. One actually got on the track. People all of a sudden started yelling a darting around, next thing I know I'm looking head on to run down a 50 pound bird with an 7 foot wing span. Next the bird tries to fly and hops up, but being so large is needs some space to do that and there is none. Then the birds feather tips brush my right shoulder and ear as I fly by on the backstretch at 25+.
The strange thing was I had 3 different birds kind of buzz my car in the last 24 hours. Last night I was down at the harbor having a coffee all by myself when I happen to notice all the different birds singing, not something I would normaly be that aware of. Anyway... kind of strange cause I was so worried about being safe last night. (Play Twilight Zone music here.)
