Foo - spammed

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Okay, I need some fooster help here.
One of my email accounts has recently been getting tons
of spam for things like "LACTOSE INTOLERANT?"
and other semi medical conditions.
On each and every one of them at the bottom of the spam
is the following:
You signed up on Timestamp on File with the IP 0.0.0.0
Now I don't recall signing up for spam even though I thought
Monty Python's take on it was hysterical.
Anyone know anything about the above message? or
how do I kill this cr@p? one note it does not come from
the same email address or anything that I could use to set
up as a filter.
any assistance would be most appreciated.

Is this an email account that pops/downloads to your computer or one that is web based (yahoo etc...) The web based ones you could deal with by simply reporting the email to the provider.
The home based pop email account can be "helped" with 3rd party programs. "email pop spam blockers" in google should turn up an endless supply. The new version of outlook works pretty well on its own for blocking email as well.
I am Fluffy ... A Kitten's Guide to Nigerian Tuna Spam
Fluffy
Lagos Cat Pound,
Nigeria
Dear Friend,
I am Fluffy, the favourite kitten of the late president of Nigeria. As you know my late master was very very rich man and he left me all his tuna. But, as kitten, I not allowed to have fridge of my own.
My good friend, there are many many fishes and without more fridges tuna go bad. I eat as many as I can but I small kitten and much sick. So I write you, my very good friend, as your name well known in Nigeria as godly person with many fridges.
If you help store my tuna I give you 20% (TWENTY AMERICAN PER CENTS) of each fish - including heads.
Please be writing back soon. Weather hot and there are many bad cats looking with the eyes at my fishes.
Your good friend,
Fluffy

including heads :)
Did you respond ?
Just out of curiosity, is the IP referenced in the email actually your IP address? Assuming your IP doesn't change very often (cable modem, etc), you can see it easily here: http://www.whatismyip.com/
Mael, web based mail account, again problem is that they are all from
different email (spam) accounts. the only thing constant in them is the timestamp message.
eboo (Fluffy) I'd be happy to store you fishes but there would be much problem with the
lesser demon from the third circle of hell which disguises itself as a cat and resides in our house.
No I didn't respond, I'm not lactose intolerant. I'm not that dumb (smiley thingy goes here).

Got anything like Spambot?
I can run any spam killer all day, this is on a web based email account, not on my PC.

Best way is to hope they have a good reporting tool. Because you don't have control of either smtp or pop you can't really stop the spam. Thats the job of the provider :)
Your provider should/maybe/maybe not have something that ranks the emails. Ideally this catches it. But some providers just don't do it, and that leaves the end user to deal with 1000's of spam a day. I have one account like that and I gave up on using it.
Eboo, that was funnier than hell. You are the shiznit my sista!!!!!!!!!! I may go get a glass of milk, get a big mouthful and then reread your post just so I can SNORF milk all over the screeen.
