ZOMG !

This is almost unreal.

about 6 months ago I e-mailed the county about a missing bicycle sign on the south-bound entrance to the E. Kinney tunnel in downtown fort lauderdale... Someone replied and said it would be taken care of but it never happened...

Fast foward to monday, I e-mail the county again - no reply .. So I e-mailed the state DOT and guess what?

Today, I get a reply and I inform the person that this is urgent and that we need to get a sign up there and she e-mails me back and says the sign will be up either today or monday. The lady who e-mails me informs me that since this is a state road, the county doesn't work on any signs along it - rather, it is the state dot office that handles it.

On the way home, just a few hours after the e-mail - I rode to where the sign is supposed to be and IT IS THERE !!!!!!!!

A brand new sign !!! I didn't snap a picture because it just started drizzling and I didn't want to get my pocket pc wet =)

Anyhow, this is great news and I am really proud of how fast FDOT took care of the sign.

ff, be careful here. If you post self congratulatory threads you will be chastised for it. I did something similar a little while ago & jsut brow beated for it. Just giving you a head up.

I understand that, but you contacted the county then the DOT. I did something similar by calling the city about a sign, then posting about it & got picked on for it. Of course I don't hink anyone will pay attention to this thread, they're too busy on the JF thread.

It sure is! Isn't it awesome when things work the way they're supposed to? :)

man I can't even reach a real human being at our DOT or public works department that quickly

my old neighborhood has roads that haven't been repaved since the REAGAN ADMINISTRATION. I'm not kidding.
