My sister and I were riding our bikes today, and one of her pedals break off. The pedal is acually fine, but the crank broke. I need some inexpensive crank options. This bike is a BRAND NEW Walmart bike Schwinn.
Not the best bike, but the cranks SHOULD HAVE lasted at least 2 months.

Can you help me bikeforums?

In Foo? Whoa you are gonna get moved.........

And don't get me started on the "I told ya so's" of the mtb forum. Just don't let them know whatever you do. You and I both know why.

If I were you I'd change the bike and say it's a roadie before the mods see it. Or else it's going there.........

RUNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!

If it's 2 months old and it broke, bring it back to Wal-Mart and get your money back. Then go to your LBS like you should have done to begin with and get a proper bike.

I think that the LBS won't have anything suitable for under $500

Ummmmmmmm

I'm gonna do the traditional Hardrock recommendation.

Then add the traditional "Specialized Sucks".

Whew. Got THAT outta my system....

Dude, there are some sweet entry-level bikes priced well under $500 at your LBS.

Hi maximan1-

Purchasing a quality bicycle from the LBS will ultimately save you money and will provide you with a much more enjoyable ride in the meantime. The catastrophic crank failure could have caused you to have a nasty accident...which potentially carries a huge pricetag. Wal-Mart is fine for purchasing soda, papertowels, and laundry detergent, but they're not so good for bicycles.

Hi maximan1-

I gotta start looking at profiles...."Puch Superleicht, Nishiki moutain project, Trek 2300 carbon composite..." :D

It means you're a troll or you should just follow my original advice.

Too late. Bwaahaahaa.

Seriously, though. Bring it back to Walmart. Get your money back. Go to the LBS and see what they have. You can get something decent for $500 (including hybrids if that is what she wants). Obviously that $500 didn't get squat at Walmart, right?

The product of said squat is what you get from WalMart. ;)

You're too soft once you get out of the Mountain Bike forum.
