In an effort to minimize the team's carbon footprint, the Kodak Gallery Pro Cycling Team, presented by Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. has partnered with Renewable Choice Energy to offset 100% of the carbon based pollution generated by the team with clean, renewable wind power. The Kodak Gallery Pro Cycling Team is the first pro sports team in the U.S. to make such a large commitment.

These carbon offsets things used to look kind of silly to me. The fact that I see info about them over and over again seems to indicate:
A) they're getting a fair bit of publicity, and their existence might be known by almost everybody soon
B) instead of being a drop in the bucket, with lots of people buying carbon offsets they can actually make a substantial difference.
