Foo - A few of my vacation pics (Dial-up warning)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Nice...I liked the no curbs and railings along the canals where the cars are parked. Here in the US, one fool would drop his car in the drink and would sue, city, state, Feds because it was the "govts" fault he drove into the canal.

they have them at the busier canals.

that said, it's not unheard of for someone to fall into a canal, or drive into the canal.

my ex once saw a car go into the drink. it was a special make for handicapped/elderly drivers and went into the water. two passengers inside. it did not end well.

I am looking at the pics of the 7 bridges. What I see is strange. Look at the house in the middle of the pic, it seems as if it is sitting on one of the bridges. Any one else notice this?

I think the house is at the very end, where the canal ends in a "T".

I once spent a day in Amsterdam and fell in love with the place. I keep telling myself I have to go back one of these days and spend some time there.

Someone in England filed a lawsuit against a GPS navigation company because the software told the driver to go straight even though a canal was there, and then the driver drove into the canal...

It is crazy that even Google maps has a disclaimer on it. Moronic nitwits can't even think for themselves these days. My street is so new that Mapquest does not even show the subdivision. Should I sue them for possible future losses of my home based business? Of course not. But some people would probably think that is a good idea.

Only about 250,000. We even rented some granny bikes and rode around some.

Cydewaze, next time you go over there, mind bringing a few of those 250,000 bikes back with you, maybe a few beautiful old dutch build vintages? My wife would kill me, but I'd love to have a second Gazelle one of these days. ;)

Or since Botto seems to be fimilar with the area, perhaps I could strong arm him into locating a few beauties for me in exchange for not banning his loud mouth. (joking... kinda. :p)

Amazingly enough, I think I managed to miss 99% of the bikes with the camera. I caught a few here (http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k283/cydewaze/Holland07/IMG_1351.jpg), here (http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k283/cydewaze/Holland07/IMG_1352.jpg), and here (http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k283/cydewaze/Holland07/IMG_1475.jpg) though.

Only if you pay the shipping. The ones we rented must've weighed 50+ lbs each.

A little lighter version of the Dutch bike. ;) But yes, lots of the dutch 'city' bikes aren't meant for racing around town.

I don't think they've had the challenges of a Category 4 hurricane. Not yet, that is.

But, check out this storm track from 1973:

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/fd/1973_Atlantic_hurricane_season_map.png

I wonder how long it will take before warmer ocean surface temperatures results in a hurricane force storm reaching all the way to Europe?

Let's flip a coin. Which will they get first? A hurricane or an ice age.
