To spare you all the race report...These guys are wicked fast and I'm really slow. They made me do the category A ride because of my age but next week I get to go to my appropriate class. Oh and I take back everything I ever said about not being able to find races in Belgium. There are 2 races every weekend all within 20min drive of me. Just in case anyone is curious http://www.amicalecycliste2000.be/accueil.php Only thing left now is to train, train, train and get faster.
Racing in Belgium is the balls.
I should try and get down there for a dose of getting my legs ripped off. It's been too long.

That's great to hear man!
If I get over there this summer like I'm still planning on I'll drop you a line.
Spit out some details though :D
How fast was it? How long was the race? How many racers? What was the course like? etc...etc..etc.

Well the course was a 5k loop with wind gust up to 15mph and class A was scheduled to do 80K. I was in nowhere near shape to keep up the class A guys but the president said I had to ride class A for my first race. From the start of the horn we were up to 45kph through the first turn. I hung with the pack for almost a lap and decided to back down and just try to finish. Me and another slower racer just helped each other for about 5 or 6 laps then he dropped out. After that I got tired of fighting the wind by myself. I got to the 51k mark and decided to call it a day. Not what I wanted to do but I'm just nowhere near fast enough to keep up with those guys. Its only my first year racing so I got a lot to learn and a lot more training ahead of me. I plan to go every weekend. Everybody was real nice to me and hopes I come out again.

You're in the military right? Is there a base with cheap lodging nearby?

Yeah I'm military and I just left Fayetteville not to long ago. I have no idea on lodging. I went straight to the B's. If you give me a couple days I can get some figures for you.
