I have to give some props out to Gears bike shop in Mississauga. I bought some Specialized S-Works road shoes a couple weeks ago and after a couple rides on the trainer I came to the conclusion that I goofed. The shoes were just a tad too big. I had put in some orthotics at the shop and that helped take up some volume in the shoe, but once I got on the trainer I could tell the length was just too much. Today I bit the bullet and headed back to the shop to try on some 42.5's and praying that they would take my 43's back. I expected them to balk at that and I'd be forced to ebay the shoes. To my surprise, and pleasure, they were ok with the return and exchanged them for the 42.5's. I was up front and told them shoes had be worn a couple times, but had not seen the light of day outside. I think it was totally cool that they did this and as a reward I'm getting them into looking at ordering me a new Kona Jake the Snake.
Actually my wife and I have been venturing there with regularity in the last few weeks. First it was my shoes, then she bought a set, I went in for a fitting and she's going in for one next week. Every time we've been in they have been very helpful and knowledgeable.
I just had to say something considering all the posts slamming bike shops around the net....
