Southern California - >> Attention Ladies, The Most Important Question of All <<

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I have an important question but I need to get the answer directly from the girls of So Cal (who are as wise as they are beautiful) what I need to know is : Are girls really down for bikers?

Bikers? Do you mean the Harley driving kind or the cyclists? I can only answer for myself, but if you speak of the kind that wear spandex, mulit-colored jerseys and helmets, yes, I'm "down" for them...something I've not kept secret on here or otherwise. :D

When I was younger, I thought cyclists were just too skinny and spindly-looking. I liked guys with a bit more upper body muscle. Besides, at 20 just about everyone is thin.

As I have gotten older and realize how much more difficult it is to keep off the weight, I have come to appreciate the leanness and sheer physicality of cyclists and triathletes. When you become middle aged like me, you realize that those lean bodies are earned... with every mile, every 1k feet of climbing, every sweat-soaked jersey, every screaming quad, etc... My hats off to them.

So, yeah, I guess you could call me "down" with cyclists.

Amen, Sister. ;) However, I will add that I'm not discerning in terms of the thinner to thicker male cyclist physique. I find men's lower halves (thighs, buttocks, calves) especially appealing. Whether the man is on the skinny side, one long lean muscle, or a little thicker (a little padding here and there), is irrelevant to me. As long as they own and ride a bike and wear spandex shorts, I'm happy to see them coming. :D

Look at it from our side; many men, including me, think fit, active women are beautiful and love to be with them. I suspect some women feel this way about men, too.

Is this your way of finding out who the single SoCal women are?

I just had this conversation the other day. Without slamming my soon to be ex-husband and his gym time spent weight lifting...just to bulk up <~~~oh wait, did I just do it anyway? Oops! :p I am way more attracted and drawn to muscles that were built, defined and earned climbing mountains and spending hours in the saddle. Muscles that will take a man somewhere, muscles that serve a purpose.

Okay...so that was the totally physical aspect...on another note. Yes, I'm "down with" someone who shares the same passion that I do. You can't beat being with someone that will ride on the street side of the lane to keep you safer, someone that will physically push you up a hill (or even on a flat road :o when you're totally fading on a double century), someone that will take off on a climb and then come back down to ride up with you. I could go on and on and on, but I'll stop because you probably get the picture. So yes...the ladies are "down" with the cyclists. :)

When I was a professional underwear model I got a bit tired, frankly, of being treated as a piece of meat. This discussion brings back those bad memories.

I have a mind ya know!

Nah, I'm pretty sure they prefer beer guzzling slobs who get out of breath going to the pantry to get more twinkies. You should try it.

The whole point is to make you XYs feel really good about yourselves and what you do. :D

BTW, After your next ride, I expect all you guyclists to slowly zip down your jerseys while singing, "I'm bring sexy back..." If Bobby Julich can do it on national television, then you can do it in the privacy of your own home (or wherever you may be).

Video will be helpful, although photos with graphic textual descriptions are acceptable. You can post here. There will be a contest and a prize (a Pumpkin clif bar). Brandy and ME will judge but I'll be the tiebreaker because I'm the oldest.

Well, I've been honked at a few times while riding. I figured it's either because I look hot in spandex or I just cut that person off... I like to think it's because of the way I look in spandex..

Please, no, I'm there when they do it and I really don't want to be asked to film them. It's bad enough that they do this in front of a bowling alley.

Isnt asking for approval of cyclists in BF like going to an AA meeting and asking if anyone likes to drink?

I guess its a sure fire way to get the answer you want :)

:roflmao: You are too funny...and you busted us. That's what we really, really want...in a drug induced coma.

And Brandy hit on something. It's not just that men look good on, around, with bikes, but there is a certain chivalry that goes with the sport. Most (not all, I'm sure) men I've ridden with really care for the women they are around. It's as if the "hunter-gatherer" dynamic pops up on rides. Mind you, I can take care of myself just fine. But when a man stays with me on a bike even when I'm throwing a temper tantrum, sweaty, stinky and in a foul mood unable to finish a ride and whining about it...now that gets my motor running. :D
