Attempted Murder Charge Filed in Road Rage Incident
Raleigh — A Raleigh man is charged with attempted murder after a pedestrian told police he was purposely hit by a vehicle over the weekend.
Doroteo Calles Hernandez, 23, of 605-A Charleston Road, also is charged with driving while intoxicated. He is being held in the Wake County Jail on a $1 million secured bond.
David Barber told police he was walking his dog in the area of Jeffries Street and Dana Drive in southwest Raleigh at about 5 p.m. Saturday when he yelled at a vehicle the sped past. He told police that the driver circled the block and ran him over.
Barber was taken to WakeMed with serious, but not life-threatening injuries, police said.

the guy is hurt but ok -- how about the dog?
seriously -- this drunk needs his so-called 'manhood' sliced, diced, and fed to him as a reminder that macho-boy behind the wheel is even more stupid.
(boy, i must be in a bloodthirsty frame of mind tonight!)
I got jaggoffs speeding up the street all the time. One guy a couple years ago was doing at least 60 in a 25, he slammed on the brakes after my wife yelled at him to slow down and squirted his car with the hose. He backed up, started to get out and challenge my wife or beat her up so she yelled at me in the garage. Jaggoff changed his mind as I had time enough to holster up one of my many shootin irons and a camera on the way out. I got his plate number as he sped off.
What are people thinking doing almost 3 times the speed limit on side streets? Wanna drive like a maniac hit the freeway. At least there's a better chance you'll only kill yourself.

Gee, so much for having the car as the perfect murder weapon. Now if only bicycle riders can push this charge every time a JAM tries to run us over.

I hope that überJAM gets his arse handed to him. Proverbially or literally, pick one.

If someone jams a car in reverse and was heading right for a cop, he would be justified in shooting. What about a cyclist?
Good reason to carry a side arm. and not to pretend like you do. Also seems like you should just keep on going if someone shoots you the finger.

Not sure what happened in this case--

Bike rage: Cyclist allegedly insults, shoots driver
Chicago Sun-Times, Feb 10, 2004
MONROEVILLE, Pa. -- A bicyclist shot a truck driver in the arm during a confrontation that began when the man pedaling the bike made an obscene gesture, police said.
Robert Urick, 41, was charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault and weapons offenses.
William Nicoletti, 51, told police that when he drove past Urick in his pickup truck Saturday, Urick made an obscene gesture.
Nicoletti said he turned around and drove toward Urick, who pulled out a pistol and threatened to shoot, police said.
Officers said Urick then reached into the truck and shot Nicoletti once in the arm, and rode away on his bike.
