The videos posted on the 'Cyclist View videos' thread were good educational tools.

Even better, it seems to me, would be interactive video, or interactive computer simulation. Cyclists could make their moves and mistakes online, rather than in the real world. Education in the field of aviation (pilot education) makes good use of simulators, and they are effective. Commercial aviation has succeeded in making flight one of the safest modes of transportation.

It could be an engaging and effective way to learn.

It could also be made interesting to young people.

Navigating an urban obstacle course, and honing one's instincts and quickness of response (using simulators) could all be very engaging. I would enjoy learning this way, and testing myself, and developing my skills -- and I wish someone would make such a learning tool(s) available to cyclists and prospective cyclists online.

(Maybe there is even some grant money out there somewhere that could help to make this happen?)

Is the above meant to be educational? Can it be viewed on-line and if so where? Thanks.

Sorry Martin, that's a picture from the old game Paperboy. You ride a bike, tossing papers to people's doorsteps, and avoiding problems.:)

That said, I'm sure someone really skilled with flash could make a simple program to let you 'map out' scenarios....I think...
