Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - Trek Pilot 2.1 for Clydesdale?

Hi , everyone - I am looking for advise and some impressions from Trek Pilot owners about 2.1 model. I started riding last year and currenty have 2 bikes - Trek 7500 Hybrid for the road and Trek 4300 for some "montain" trails we have here in Chicagoland.
I tried Pilot 2.1 in couple of LBSs and liked it a lot. Frame size 63 cm fits me well - I am 6'5" and 285lbs. My plan is to sell hybrid 7500 and replace it with Pilot for my road rides.
So , just wondering if Pilot owners have anything good or bad to say about the bike. I usually ride 75-100 miles per week ( 16-10 miles on weekdays after work and 30-35 miles Saturday or Sunday). My plan is to increase my weekend road rides to 60 miles and may be do a century this summer. I'll continue to use 4300 on mountain trails.
Appreciate any inputs on this model.

Anyway, I test-rode a Pilot and *loved* it. Fast, nimble, and a very nice ride. The only thing that I didn't like was the wheelset - too few spokes for my big butt! I could feel them wobble a bit, or at least I thought I did, so I avoided the pilot line and picked up a FX.

However, I have almost 100lbs on you, so YMMV - try it out and see what you think. If nothing else, see if the LBS will swap the wheels out with some 32 or 36 spoke ones.

But man, those things are a nice ride. Good luck and post pics if you buy one!

My LBS has one that is a rental that I used on a ride and it was fantastic. 30 mile ride so I got a good feel of the bike. Loved it, it would be on my list of bikes to consider

Thanks for helpful responses. I agree with concerns about low number of spokes. However, it looks like my hybrid 7500 has the same number of spokes as 2.1 and , so far, it's holding well. I guess I am buying soon - weather is getting better in Chicagoland and season is opened.

One good thing about the wheels is that they are interchangable. Just swapped the cassette to the other wheel and off you go. Now if your 7500 has the same gear setup, 10 spd 105, then your money.

I just bought one of these on Friday! I LOVE it!!! I've only had it out for one ride since the weather was rainy over the weekend. However, I'm about 5'7" and weigh ~265lbs. No problems on the bike with the weight. After 10 miles road buzz was non-existant, unlike my previous Huffy bike.
