Anyone familiar with Lafayette Indiana? I am going there in the near future for a clinic and wondered if anyone could recommend good restaurants (reasonably priced) and points of interest.

I lived there for 8-ish years. What kind of food are you looking for?

If I was there right now I'd go to either the Clubhouse for a burger, The Pub for some wings, Brunos for pizza or cheese balls ;), etc.....

....I'm hungry.

I currently live in Lafayette....

Feel free to ask me anything you need to!

Points of interest:

Fort Quiatenon

Prophets Rock (Site of the Balltle of Tippecanoe), and I can arrange for a ride out to either place.

The Wolf Park (Wolf Research station, and quite cool!)

The Knickerbocker....Indiana's oldest bar...in business longer than Indiana has been Indiana.

The Skywatch Tower: Old DOD site, used to be part of the Air defense network as well as a part of a low observability Stealth program in the 50's for the Air Force.

Lots of riding in the area as well!

Tom, are you a member of Friends of Bob (http://www.friends-of-bob.org/)? Great music co-op that brings in lots of national acts to Lafayette. Lots of their shows are at the Brewing Co.

If you like ethnic food I'd recommend Bea One for Asian food (mostly Korean, but also sushi and a bit of Thai) and the Blue Nile in West Lafayette for Middle Eastern. But the best meal is to ride to Brookston, stop at the Klein Brot Haus and get a muffin or inauguration cookie and ride back. It's about 35 miles roundtrip from the West Side.
