My motorcycle was stolen last night. I figure this is a good time to ake the plunge and buy a recumbent. I found one in my budget. It's on craigs list for 800$. The model is Sun EZ Rider. Can anyone tell me anything about this bike? Is 800 a fair price?

That all depends on what type of riding you plan on doing? It is not a speedy bike by any stretch of the imagination, but like most recumbents will still be very comfortable and probably be a good starter recumbent for you. Keep in mind that once the recumbent bug has bitten, you are infected forever. This won't be your last recumbent.

I would use it for commuting to work, 14 mile round trip and for riding around on the weekends

Offhand I don't know what the MSRP is on an EZ-Rider. (EZ-Ryder?) It is the rear-suspended version of the EZ-Sport. Depending on the specific model, it's listed as 40 to 45 pounds, which makes it very heavy, even by recumbent standards, where 30-32 pounds is acceptable and 35 starts getting porky. Do you really want to do a 28 mile RT commute on a 45 pound bike?
