Wow. I just bought a new graphic card for my PC (ati radeon x1950pro AGP) and installed it. Everything worked perfectly! Then, I plugged the sound in, and I saw a huge blue spark. Great. I just shorted my $450 motherboard. This sucks. Now I'm stuck on this stupid slow laptop + I can't play Battlefield 2. At least I have my good 'ol bike to ride around :)
If its any consolation, your posts still look really cool, like they were coming from the blowed up machine, not the stop slow laptop.

You were plugging in the speaker jack or the sound card to the mother board?
My family had a Dell from around 1996. I used to take paperclips and stick them across the motherboard and see how many sparks or how much smoke I could make. I also literally licked the crap out of it a few times when I got pissed playing a game. That computer was friggin indestructible. It still works perfectly fine to this day, although it's just a little outdated by now.

haha I built mine, everything custom, so when i plugged it into the soundcard, it fried my stupid motherboard. I hope to God I can salvage my $400 graphic card, which took me a lot time cleaning people's pools to save up!!! It's a 2 year old computer. I think it cost me about $2,000 dollars of Christmas money (dude thanks granpa) and $500 of my own money.
