I took the opportunity to answer your question by riding our Trek T900 to my bike shop to weigh it on their digital scale. The total weight of the bike as shown in the picture is 49.36 LB's

Now our T900 is not entirely stock. I replaced the big 26X1.95 tires with Bontrager Satellite Hardcase 26X1.5 tires,( they roll MUCH nicer, and improve the bikes handling), Bontrager CRZ Sport saddles, (CRZ WSD in the rear), fairly heavyduty Trek rear rack with the bag shown with dual rear lights, Shimano SPD pedals for the Captain and Stroker, steel center kickstand, (probably a couple pounds, but I like the center stand idea), Bongrager "Crowbar" front handlebars with the ends, and Shimano trigger shifters, and a couple small storage bags and water bottle cages.

I liked the aluminum frame with the T900, and the derailures are a better quality also. The bike has been flawless so far, and easily handles our combined weight of about 350 LB's with no flexing noted.

Thanks for the reply I couldn't find any info on weight on the Trek T900.
It looks like I will be getting one this weekend, I looked and many but the wife is just to short for any of the small frames with straight top tubs, and I don't want to get anything that would discourage her from riding on a regular basis. I'd love to get one of the other tandems but fit is much more important. It turns out that even the KHS Alite would be pushing her limit on stand over height, with only 1/2" to spare I don't want to put her in that tight of a fit.

Thanks again its much appreciated.

I forgot to also mention that my wife is also short, (4'10") and the Trek T900 allows for her to mount and dismount with ease, and allows the seat to sit low enough with the suspension post still operative. My only other choice to accomodate both of us was a Bike Friday tandem........VERY nice bikes, but they were a lot more money, (and they are a whole other class of a bike). It's also been a great equalizer for us. The wife isn't as strong of a rider as I am, but with the tandem, she's able to enjoy some of my group rides. She's also joining me for a 5 day trip across Missouri in June on the Katy Trail.

Good luck with the T900.....
