I figured I'd head out to Alachua for some XC action. Haven't ridden in like a week, so I need to go for a good long ride. Tomorrow I was thinking about heading to Santos (Maybe meeting A2 and his friend) for a ride. My ribs are still hurting bad from a nasty crash, so anything hardcore is out of the question. Broken ribs suck.. but I'm gonna make the best of it. How bout you guys? The weather here sucks, too.. it's been soggy all weekend, so I'm sure the trails will be as well.

It's Sunday morning and my legs are pretty sore. Yesterday I hit a group ride through Cheyenne Canyon on the mountain bike. Total time was 4 hours and covered around 33 miles with a ton of climbing - started at 5845 ft and hit 7985 feet at the top of our ride.

We started from downtown and caught the santa fe trail then hit the bear creek regional park trails from there we went up to the chutes, back down to the trailhead near cheyenne mountain high school to meet some buddies, then back up the chutes, up gold camp road, down columbine trail, then back up to gold camp road. From there we caught buckhorn to the top, then zoomed down to high drive where we grabbed captain jacks. down the first fast descent of captain jacks then we caught a small trail down to high drive, where we grabbed palmer trail. up, up, and up palmer trail we climbed. finally hitting the top we zoomed down the steep, fast, and technical trail to the section 16 trailhead. crossed gold camp road and hit some of the bear creek regional park trails back, hit sante fe trail and rode back to downtown. all in all it was one hell of a workout.

well, aside from the sore legs, i'm gonna hit a little 90 minute road ride to get the blood flowing through my sore muscles. need to get going soon so i can be back in time to catch today's stage of the Giro on tv :-)

I'm working. I may try to go for a ride afterwords but I am sick of the rain (too many days straight without a dry trails) and may just take the day off. Or maybe I will ride. Right now Idon't know :D

I like riding in the mud, but only occaisionally. It sucks when you HAVE to ride in it all the time. But sometimes its fun :D

I also don't have rain gear yet so I get soaked. Plus I don't hasve fenders so my glasses get covered in mud and I can't see...next week I will have everything I need though :)

BTW sucks about the ribs. I am just getting over bruising and that was hard enough.

Fenders are cheap man! I got a set off price point for like 15 bucks! THE brand, too. Plus, rain gear is hot and gets torn up easy anyway. You're gonna get soaked reguardless.

How long did it take for you to get over the bruising?

A few weeks...still have a couple of 'holes' from landing on a knocked over tree but all is good. The tough part was breathing hurt.

I am only getting a jacket. I don't need full raingear. It is a freeride mtb jacket that doesn't soak up water. As for fenders I have some on order...can't wait. I just never bothered with them before but I am getting sick of not being able to see the trails. :)

Clear + Mud = Not Clear!

Actually, I saw those and liked them, does anyone know if they scratch easily?
