Hello folks,

I have a an older steel De Rosa that I'm guessing is from the early 80's or so. Unfortunately, I don't have much info on it, but every so often I check other De Rosa's on ebay, and mine has one peculiar difference. Rather than having a diamond under the heart on the headtube, mine, in similar font/style, has diagonol stripes going behind the heart. I know it's wierd and subtle, but I'm just curious if anyone happens to know what the deal is.

Well, if I only had a digital camera so I could photograph the bike; surely then someone would recognize it. Oh well.. Anyhow, I got lucky with this one.. Apparently, the bike sat in the basement of a shop for well over a decade before the owner passed it on to a friend/employee for 50 bucks. The employee is 5'9, whereas the bike stood 63cm from center crank to seatpost. I'm 6'3 and in turn ended up with this beautiful frame for all of 75 dollars..

There may be date codes on your cranks and/or rear derailleur.

I found this gallery today and the owner references mid 80's which from the graphics would be a fair guess.
