I've got one mich pro2 left over from last season thats hardly worn, and two crap training tires (Maxxis Fuse) that came stock on my caad9. I have a race tomorrow. What does the penguin do?
A) keep the tires as they are since that's what I'm used to
B) put the pro2 on the rear wheel for lower rolling resistance
C) put the pro2 on the front wheel for better tracking through corners
thoughts?

Fold it in half twice and stuff it in your shorts.

D. Buy a new wheelset and one new tire?

Buy another Pro2Race.
That or leave the Maxxis tires on there.
If the crap training tires are heavily worn, but the Pro2Race on the rear, otherwise, put it on the front.

You won't be able to race on old tires for BR in 4 weeks anyway. Pony up now. Selling plasma and/or sperm helps.

I'd call the pro2 tire 'broken in'. Put in on the back. Pump it up to max psi for low rr. When you say the maxxis tires are 'crap', how are they crap? If they tend to bounce around turns and scare the crap out of you...reduce the pressure in the front. If you have lots of climbing to contend with and tend to stand and really rock the bike, more pressure in the front. You're putting more weight on the front with that style of climbing, so higher pressure in the front should result in less rr. I'd 'guess' that sprinting hard out of the saddle is similar to climbing out of the saddle with respect to load on the front tire, so if you think it's gonna come down to a sprint...more air in the front.
You're already in bed anyways, but GOOD LUCK!!!
