I am working on developing a fast paced flat commuting route (limiting stop lights) from Campbell to south san jose (85 and 101).

I plan on coming down the Los Alamitos Creek Trail heading to McKean, then over to Bailey and up Santa Teresa... about 25 miles.

Anyway, my question regards the southern end of the Los Alamitos Creek trail. Looking at the VTA map, it forks at the end, and to the left it ends at Camden and Harry, to the right it appears to go under Camden, then under Almaden, and I'm wondering where the next exit point is. Does it dump you onto McKean, it's off the VTA map?

If so, great, as it will bypass the Camden & Harry, and Almaden & Harry intersections.

I believe it stops at Harry and Mckean and is about 1/4 mile with 1 light at Almaden Expressway and Harry before going left onto McKean.

It crosses under McKean, you'll want to exit at Camden and harry and ride harry to McKean.

Well I rode the route today, as there is rain expected the next day or two.

So the MUP trail goes under Camden, then under Almaden Expy, and dumps you out directly onto McKean Rd. You just have to cross the street and you're on your way on McKean heading South. Nice.

I never did see the other fork heading East and wound up coming down the trail that parallels Queenswood Way.

That MUP was crowded on Sunday, wouldn't advise it. But maybe less occupied in the early morning for a commute.

Did a nice 42 mile ride, weather was nice besides the head wind coming back North on Santa Teresa.
