Touring - 1980's Specialized Expedition

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
These bikes are great touring bikes. I bought one new in 1984, put many miles on it, what a great bike, classic.

I still have the water bottles that came with it.

It looks like it's in remarkable condition!
By the looks of it, it is probably too tall for me. What size is it?
Ah, yes.. I too had a 1982 Specialized Expedition. Bought new in '82. I took my first tour on it. A Jefferson bus from KCMO to Denver. Denver to Colorado Springs to Manitou Springs back to Kansas City. 8 days, 650 miles. What an awesome bike.
Completely loaded for another tour, someone kicked in my back door of my house one night and rode off with it. By then, Specialized quit making them. I couldn't find another one. But I always keep my eye open! This bike rivaled the infamous Trek 720. I think the write-ups may have even favored the Expedition! Do you have the headlight and bottom bracket generator?
What I see in your pics is a very pristine touring bike. It will make someone a very sweet ride,, indeed.

It's perfect and exceptional for it's vintage. All those spokes you see are original, as is the rest of the bike. Very rare to find one in this condition, and with the water bottles, unheard of. I was a bit anal about keeping this one up.
