... since I have crashed but today ;
Went for a ride today with friend. Started out ok then we came up on this one section that is a steep (almost vert), very off camber rock wall. My buddy rolled right on down it so then I gave it a shot. Don't know what I was thinking but decided to not use my brakes at all. Flew down it, made the transition but had waaaaaaay to much speed to make the 90 degree turn at the bottom. Started heading for a bush with a huge bolder in it. I knew I was going to hit it so I pulled up on the bars and almost made it over. Just as I was cresting the top of the bush a branch hooked my spokes. I was catapulted up and flew about 8'high. Landed on a rock about 35' down the hill that knocked the wind out of me but most importantly the bike was uninjured.
I did not think I was going that fast but but my buddy said I was flying and was amazed how fast I attempted it. I wanted to attempt it again but after I stood up I found that my left leg was not working to well so we rode a bit to loosen it up. There is going to be a serious bruise because I just happend to have my keys in my pocket.
What a rush. I watched as the bolders and small rocks passed under me. Damn it felt good to finally crash. It has been so long I was beginning to think I was becoming a wuss for not attempting the sick ****.
Props go out to Rockgarden. If not for their armor I would have broken at least 2 ribs. I almost did not wear it.
The good stuff always happens when the camera is off.
