Not sayin' it's a bad thing, but I just pulled my chainrings to give them a thorough cleaning and noticed that the 36T ring is steel. It's also completely symmetrical, so after eleventy million miles in one direction you can flip it and ride on the same ring for another couple of decades.
Pretty cool. Totally defeats the "Gossamer" model name, tho.
