Hey all....
I live in Highland, and will be riding to PUC this summer. I have to cross the 80/94... Any of you all do this very often? Is there a better way to get to PUC than go down Indianapolis or Kennedy?
Any one know any good short to medium (5-15 miles) rides in the area? How's the Bike Path that runs out to Crown Point?
Thanks all
Billy

I graduated from there in (cough ahem****). If you go to the west side of the park at ridge road take the street north just over the bridge. Down past the old Woodmar Country Club there is an underpass to get to the other side of 80/94.

Yea, I'm a PUC grad too. Until they get the Eric Lackawana trail completed, your best bet is the road just West of it, like Torgrot said (plus it really isn't that busy of a road!). The EL is a great trail. Here's a map of the trails of NW Indiana: http://www.geocities.com/huffmun/Bike_Maps.html .

Dude did you look at the weather report for this weekend? Highs in the 30s with stiff winds, I don't think I will be riding this weekend.

Well, I finaly did it! Went the whole way on Indianapolis  ! I need to find that side road... it might be 10 minuets out of the way, but thats better than being a hood orniment for a Semi :D ! If I cant find the road on the net today, I'll try taking Kennedy home.... My wife is going to kill me, but I might just get into this!.... My legs are Jello, My lungs were on fire and my fatt but is saddle sore... Damn I feel good!:D

Did you find it? The road runs right on the East side of the high school. If you are taking 173rd from Purdue Cal, you'll need to jog South on to the bike trail for a bit first.

Thanks all!
Billy
They just shut off the trail at the tunnel due to the construction at Cabella's.
