Foo - Hairless legs in racing season!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

mmkay. I tried Nair 30 years ago. DID NOT WORK.
Used either electric or disposable (occasionally "safety" EGAD! There's a farkin' oxymoron for ya!) razors since.
Decided today to try Nair again. Guess what? It worked! <shocked Vega look>
Don't yet know how to do a poll (if there's a thread that says how, Vega missed it), so:
1) Did the product improve since then?
2) Did Vega's body change such that it could work? (Please, peeps, not this option unless you provide good and pleasant reasons why changes in the Vega body could change the way the product works.)
3) The smell is still just as bad. Is it worth it? I mean, vs shaving, which I can do in less than two minutes in the shower? <serious Vega and racer look>
Discuss your skin-smoothin' protocols for the racin' season, or otherwise, Foo. And feel free to derail the thread in favor of a more interesting topic, or topics, in true Foo fashion. :D

My shaving combo, and it got C. (you know who that is now!) to use it for her legs.

Works like buttah, for all my manscaping locations.

You could always use one of those electric-coil-springed-hair-ripper-outer devices they used to sell at beauty supply places. Ouch!

Why not Duct tape?
It's cheaper, lasts longer and it can solve lots of problems. When I was rigging up the exhaust for my truck I used it.

Shaving the legs for the summer rides, not fun.
Weedwhacker, set to shred usually does the trick for me. Minimal flesh loss too. :)

Damn. My legs still smell faintly like Nair this morning. I rinsed them completely, and had even bought the one that has cocoa butter in it. Maybe I need to put a dab or Eau de Cologne on my ankles and behind my knees?
Nair works, but why does it have to stink? <scratchin' head>

I'm too sensitive for Nair and other hair removers - causes a bad rash and doesn't take all the hair off clean. Must not be designed for man hair. ;) I shave - best razor I've found is the Mach 3. Blades last forever too it seems.

I usually use the Shick EXtreme3 with Vitamin E on the strip thingie. I've never had a cut or nick with these, and they seem to last forever, too. I was just out yesterday, and saw Nair on the shelf at the drugstore, and thought, "Why not?" Hm. Now I seem to remember, "why not." :p

You could always use one of those electric-coil-springed-hair-ripper-outer devices they used to sell at beauty supply places. Ouch! That's the Epi-Lady! A modern day medieval torture device! It's like waxing in slow-motion and ripping out the hairs one at a time to prolong the agony. I tried it once... just once... Shaving in the shower's easy enough.

My shaving device:
http://img.shopping.com/cctool/PrdImg/images/pr/177X150/00/01/ac/dc/b2/28105906.JPG
I tried to use Nair on my head once, and it most certainly didn't work. 2 or 3 very painful hours of using a rather dull Mach 3 on my head later, I went to the store and bought that titanium Remington.
By the way, I ride road bikes, and used to swim competively, but I can't think of a single reason why a self respecting straight guy would want to shave his legs. But thats just me, I don't wanna insult anybody.
Any time this topic comes up I like to post about an old friend of mine. She would "trim" her leg hair and pubic hair with a King lighter. Whenever the flame got too big, she would smack the flame out so skin didn't get burned.

Well, having crashed a couple of times with and without hair, I would have to say its easier to clean a shaved leg than a non shaved one. Seems to heal quicker and have less scarring too, although every crash is different and its hard to compare them directly....
quick judicious pass with a blow torch? That should burn that hair right off. Keep it moving fast enough and I bet you hardly get burned at all. Pain is temporary, glory lasts forever.

Razor, in the shower. About every week and a half. No racing in a long time, but old habits die hard.

I use my Norelco...like Michigander does. Works great on my head, my face and my legs.
Tip...if you keep them shaved year round, it's much easier to keep them smooth.

They aren't that hairy...that picture just looks bad because they're all muddy.

Did not know you were a rancher.:D BTW, admire them from afar, but do not get romantically involved with a cute calf. Nothing good can come from it. I speak from experience.
