Foo - Age of Empires 3

I really don't play games very often, I've never even owned a gaming console. I do like some strategy games though. One of them being the Age of Empires series. I have played them all except Age of Empires 3, and am thinking about buying it. Does anybody in here have any opinions on htis game? Big improvement over AOE 2? I downloaded the trial, the gameplay is quite a bit different for sure.

I have AoE2, but didn't really like the gameplay. But building kick ass cities was still fun.

I still loves me some AoE II. Age III is pretty cool, it's really pretty to look at, and it moves forward in time so you get different weapons and such... But it's really not that much different than AoE II as far as actual gameplay if you get really into singleplayer, just some little tweaks like the Home City thing which doesn't really make a difference in single player, and the changes in resources (they eliminated stone? ...why?). AI still works about the same... still gets kinda repetitive after awhile.

But multiplayer mode is awesome with all the new tweaks... if you have somebody to battle with, it's totally worth it.

I played a skirmish game. I like it quite a bit, it's definitely on par with AOE 2 (which I still play and consider one of finest games out there). The graphics are certainly pretty, I like the viewpoint. I may buy it, that will probably be the first game I've purchased in 3 or 4 years.
