Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - This is too damn cool!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

If my recollection is right - and I'm not 100% sure that it is, but I think it is - by the time I got my first pair of adult sized jeans back when I was in my early teens, I was wearing a size 36 waist.
Well, on Friday night, I was out on a 35 mile bike ride and found myself near the Mall of America, and decided to go for a bite to eat (well, it became a 35 mile ride after I added the 5 extra miles to the mall). However, as I was walking around in bike shorts, I decided to see if it was time for a new pair of jeans (the only interim clothing I've been buying while loosing weight is jeans). So, I tried them on, and I bought a pair of 34 Levi's 501s!
Damn, but that feels GOOD!!!!!!!!

Congrats! I think I need to get another size down as well! I recently bought a pair of 40's and 2 weeks and they are baggy and hanging! Time for 38's!

Naw, my belt has holes the whole length, so it will last until I wear it out (usually about a year).
However, as it is 70 outside today, I'm going to get myself a pair of shorts or two!

Congrats, G!
I have been wearing 38's for 10 years now and I can just get back into the 36-inch Levi's I vainly boxed up when I had to go to 38. I've moved twice and kept the box in the hope that someday I would get back under 210 and be able to wear them again. I started riding a lot last year and, as God is my witness, I'll be wearing the 36's again by Memorial Day.
Hey Gabriel -- I signed up for that Iron Man Century out at Lakeville High School on April 29th (rain or shine or worse). If you're already doing a 35 mile ride, you should sign up too. Still 5 weeks to train for it. I should probably post something on mplsbikelove and see if we can get some of the people training for that MS150 on Fixies to join in.

I did that over about 6" of waist increase. I finally gave about 15 pair away. A couple months later, I finally started loosing weight. Murphys Law! If you have them, you probably won't need them.

Measure the waist of the pants and see if you're still feeling good. I'm a newspaper columnist, and I did a piece on that recently. Women's clothes have had "vanity sizing" for years, so women can say, "Oh, I'm still in a size 4" when they're actually an 8 or whatever (sounds stupid, but there are studies showing it really boosts sales). I measured a bunch of size 38 pants in the store, and they varied from 38 1/2 to almost 40.

No way! They're vintage now!
