Recreational & Family - Giant Sedone vs Jamis Explorer 2.0

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I am coming back to bike riding after being away for a long time. I'm in my fifties and interested in riding on paved roads 70% of the time and on dirt paths and grass the rest.
I tried the Giant Sadone and Jamis Explorer 2.0 and like them both. Being a short person the smaller frames seem to work for me.
Any suggestions on which to buy and why?
Thanks.
Jamis Explorer 2.0 has the better, more comfortable seat/saddle from most reviews/reports (a perennial Consumer Reports favorite). That could be important since you are riding in a more upright, back-friendly position and don't want your rear to get sore on a long excursion. Jamis tends to give you the most for the money spent, but the choice is up to you.
Here's one buyer's review that ironically looked at/compared the same bikes you have before buying:

Si-Fi,
Thanks for the info. There is a price difference although both are 2007 models. The Giant is on sale at $275 and the Jamis is $350. I think I'll ride them both again then make a final decission.
