Ok so I have a Sarris trunk carrier. Each time I am using it I have to pull it off toss it in the trunk. Then go ride then pull it back out and remount. Any cleaver ideas how to lock it to the car so I can leave it mounted while I ride any only have to mount and remove it once a day?
thanks,
Blake
Why do you need to remove the rack from your car? Are the thieves that bad where you go? I never remove my trunk rack.

I have a cable which has large (3" diameter) plastic balls on each end that I loop through my Yakima trunk rack. I just drop the balls into the hatch as I mount the rack. It's not going to stop a determined thief, but it will stop the opportunistic ones. I've had the cable since 1989, and have used it with roof racks. I can't remember where I got it, but the balls have Bic on them.
