Hola Everyone....I'm a 52 year old novice looking for the right bike and having my share of problems. Maybe you have some suggestions??

I'm a 5'2" male with a 26" inseam. It seems there are no bikes that allow me enough clearance off the top bar. I'm thinking about purchasing a Giant OCR1 as an entry level bike....I'm still a little short for it, but it seems to be about as close to a fit as I can get without spending a ton of money for a custom frame.

My girlfriend's a member of the local road bike club and I'd like to join.

Any thoughts on my choice of a starter bike?? Any better choices out there??

Help!:)

Many companies offer not only compact frames like the Giant, but smaller sized frames for people just like you. I've seen some bikes from Specialized, Cannondale and Trek in the 46cm and 48cm range.

The thing is, they're usually spec'd with smaller 650c wheels as opposed to the common 700c in order to maintain proper geometry.

Send those companies an e-mail and see what they could do for you.
