In some ways I can hardly believe it ..... but then I live in Canada .... it can snow in any month of the year here, so why not the entire first week of April?

Bah!

The forecast here is for snow by the end of next week, so it isn't over yet by a long shot.

Winter is DEFINITELY not over yet.

This morning it was -10C with a windchill factor of -17C ... and it has been snowing since sometime yesterday evening. Over 24 hours now! We've got about 6" of the stuff now. It's snowing, and blowing, and the streets are a skating rink.

The prediction is that it will continue like this till Thursday.

A month ago I was only too happy to ride to work in -9C. However, after a few weeks of warm temps, I can't motivate myself to do it. The warm temps have made me soft.

Baahhh. I hate winter.

Bummer :(

It's been snowing lightly here all day, and I don't know where it's been going for there is no snow on the gorund, and it's not wet. I think it's been blowing away :)

After my first winter commuting to work and being generally smober , I figured I would get myself a nice treat. I'm waiting for my LBS to prepare my new Opus Allegro. Delivery is Friday. Forecast is snow. Figures.

Spring in Quebec sucks. Sloche and rain. It's just a barely noticeable sensation on your skin before the black flies take over. But then again, the sound coming from the geese in a V formation above your head on your first long ride under a bleak belgian-classic sun...

I spent the wknd riding to the Cherry Blossom Festival in DC....in shorts;) No brag, just fact....If it makes you feel any better we are expecting snow on Easter wknd w/ record low temps. This AMs commute was cold rain.

Speak for yourself. Canada's a big country. The climate in Southern Ontario, where I am, is basically a cross between what you get in the American Midwest and New England. This doesn't include Ottawa, though, which is a lot farkin' colder than here. I'm guessing you live in Alberta, where it snows in the summer?

Not to be snooty, though. That cold snap is heading our way, and, shudder, we're going to get some major snow in April. De rigeur for you out there, but unusual down here.

I'm a little south of you, in calgary. This extended winter weather is messing with my motivation. I still haven't wavered, but I'm getting closer and closer each day. I'm heading to the Kootenays where the forecast calls for 20C high's all weekend.

Strapping the studded (at least front) tire back on my single-speed here in Pennsylvania.

It was over 80 degrees here yesterday! However, the next 6 days call for lows in the low 20s, and highs in the low to mid 30s. Welcome to spring in PA!

Considering his connection to global warming...that's rather ironic. :p

hello from sunny marquette, MI! There has been a devil storm swirling above our heads since Tuesday night. It's hard to tell how much snow has fallen, the wind pushes it around so much. In some places the ground is visible under patchy snow, other places have 5 foot snowdrifts. I'll post photos when I find my USB cable. But looking at the following pictures from early Feb. will give you an idea of the volume if not the distribution of the snow.

But yeah, getting home I coulda wolfed down some nice pancakes, that would have been nice. Instead I went for dates, bread, canola oil and some almonds.

despite what the canadian gov't may say canola oil is not good for you.

Nope!! Still not over!!

There's a heavy snowfall warning here tonight.

That's just hilarious because only a couple days ago, I basically put my trainer away thinking I wouldn't need it till next winter. Looks like I might be digging it out again. <<sigh>>

The spring skiing is just getting good out here- usually don't have to hang up the skis until after the Fourth of July.

Here's some photos from a ski trip on Sunday, April 15. up above the lowest pass around these parts. The North Cascades highway hasn't even OPENED yet.

Mid Atlantic SPRING is here...again. 70F for the wknd. I proclaim that winter is done, stick a fork in it. At least least in Maryland. I, for one am ready for some warmth.
Bekologist: I use to ski Mammoth in CA and could ski(many winters) until July fourth. Usually stopped in June though.

Later, Charlie(ready for a long ride in sunshine)
