Meetup.com, have you heard of the site?

I stumbled in a few weeks back and signed up to a pagan group and a MTB group. The MTB meetup had a ride yesterday at Washington's Crossing State park in NJ. Six people showed up, including myself & Devil woman.

Heather, the meetup coridinator is a dynamic person. We rode about a mile through some wheel sucking mud in which Devil Woman came to a complete stop, tipped over and rolled onto her back. Unscathed she picked herself up and walked out the last hundred yards or so, Heather stayed with us the whole time. Leaving the single track swamp we picked up the paved roads of the park and rode another 3 miles back to the cars. Out legs ready to fold after the trudge thru the mud.

Afterwards we went to this little canal/MUP side tavern and had a few sips and some great conversation.

We had a great time and lookforward to hooking up again. :D

A pagan group?
Every time I hear that I think of the movie Dragnet with Dan Ackroyd, and I picture a bunch of people dancing around in goat legings claiming to be Amil Muz.

It's amazing how the media skews our perceptions. You probably associate dirty, diseased, and vicious with rats too, eh? ;)

No, just that they taste like chicken...but I wouldn't know.

Maybe I should see if there's something like that in Charlotte. It sure was fun having a partner yesterday. I need to see if there are others who can ride during the weekdays. Plenty of group rides after 6pm and on weekends, but I feel best when I ride in the afternoon. Less traffic, too.

Sounds like you all had a lot of fun, Stacey! Hang in there, DW! You get stronger on every ride, and it gets more and more fun! :)

We had a blast BDG & VV!

The co-ordinator asked us to put together a ride. I have two in mind. One at Green Lane Park... a real nice selection of single track trails, the other is a short jaunt of single & dualie out to the dam head at Lake Nockamixion. Would be great to meet and ride out for a picnic lunch and toss a frisbee around for a while then ride back.

Sounds like a Foo road ride I've been tryin' to get goin' around here. Except we would want to stop somewhere for coffee and PIE  instead of playin' Frisbee. :D
