Hey Guys n' Gals,

As you can see, there's nothing happy about this Memorial Day... at least as far as biking is concerned. The photo is of the Met Museum here in Manhattan (taken a few moments ago). The few tourists you see are those who failed to realize that the Met is always closed on Mondays no matter what. Oh well, maybe June will bring an end to the rain and cold weather.

Lastly, a HUGE thumbs up to the men & women service personnel around the world who continue to do a great job in protecting our liberties. ;)

I know what you mean. I'm here visiting friends in Long Island. I drew grill duty but found that the place in their yard where the grill was situated was under 4 inches of standing water that was slowly rising. Luckily their gas grill has a long hose for the gas line so I was able to move it to higher ground. As for biking, I hadn't planned on doing any anyways so no loss (or rather no more loss) there.

Nice photo...at least you're in Manhattan. Can you imagine being stuck out here on Long Island in this monsoon?

Happy Memorial Day!

Khuon, this is probably wet even for someone from Seattle, eh?

Just as bad 'down the shore' in NJ. Not much to do but clean house and wait for the Giro to come the tube at 3:30. Guess we'll fire up the grill at about the same. Spend an hour on the trainer in the meantime. We need some sun and warmth out of this.

Like above - thanks to all our military folks out there.

Hey! It STOPED raining in Brooklyn(NY). Ummm.. should I go for a ride? They have predicted showers from time to time. I don't mind getting wet when it's worm, but come on, it's 50 degrees out here.

It's even worse 'up the shore' here in CT. I wanted to ride up to Bethel on my new roadie but those plans were quickly stifled as I woke up to pounding rain and it has hardly let up at all. The town actually cancelled our parade and closed the fair for the day as well. I'm stuck inside drawing sketches of some of my magnetic powered devices that I can't disclose any more information about at the moment :) :D ;) .

It actually has stopped raining now, so I plan on waiting an hour or so and hitting the roads up for just 5 or 6 miles since it will still be wet. I think I'm addicted now, I just don't feel right if I don't bike at least once a day, and now that I have the Fuji it's even stronger since it is such an awesome bike (well, in my opinion it is).

We had beautiful weather here in Chicago today- just perfect for riding. I got my flag out and attached it to my rear rack and let it rip in the wind.

Thanks to all those who protect and serve. I couldn't do it....

Happy Memorial Day
