Foo - So I'm Heading to San Fransico...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
...for a Jujitsu conference. Work out during the day and have the evenings off. I was wonder what I should check out while I'm there. (besides the obvious of course)
Thanks.:)

If San Francisco is anything like Seattle and they are as I'm told by seattlelites you could probably killl time and enjoy it just by walking around and seeing where the wind takes you.
Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair. :)

The Muir woods are nice. I also like the Black Diamond Mines. If you are more interested in the city, there are plenty of hangouts.

Are there really as many hippies in San Fran as there are in Seattle?

Scott McKenzie song ref...
If you're going to San Francisco
Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair
If you're going to San Francisco
You're gonna meet some gentle people there
For those who come to San Francisco
Summertime will be a love-in there
In the streets of San Francisco
Gentle people with flowers in their hair
Probably before your time. :)

2007?
This is probably only funny to me - because they put the Date on the board in the room hospital patients and then they ask you what the date is later on in the day.

Whatever you do, don't date one of those really tall women the fisherman's Wharf that wear Glass heeled High heels with live goldfish in the heels!

Check out the Beach Blanket Babylon show. They make parodies of current events and it's always hilarious!

Go to the Church of Scientology center in downtown SF and get enlightened.
Are there really as many hippies in San Fran as there are in Seattle?
No, only dope smokin' wannabe's that hang out in the Haight who weren't even alive during the 60's, let alone the 70's!
No matter what time of the year you visit, bring a warm jacket. It could be 60-70's in the day downtown, but it can turn down in the 50's by 5pm!
where in SF are you staying?
The Westin right next to the bay. *forget the exact name

Thanks, Stacey. I've been singing this all afternoon, in various self-stylized versions.
You could say that, "I can't get it outta my head. No I can't get it outta my head...."
Always glad to help. :D

The St Francis in Union Square? If so, nice place, nice location, Walking distance to everything. I am not sure what you mean by next to the bay though. Embercadero, Wharf?

I used to have a t shirt that said Castro Street Drag Racing. Probably too obscure if you don't know the neighborhood.:p

Hill repeats, remember hill repeats. You might even enjoy them at the lower altitude.

Is the O'Farrell Theater still there?
Haight Ashbury has some good clothes/sneaker shopping, couple good thai places to eat at.
North Beach has good food, good shops, and a dozen strip clubs on Broadway.
The Embarcadero is always nice to check out for the touristy stuff. Alcatraz is across the way, never been, could be fun I suppose.
Union Square has shopping out the ass but it's nothing you can't find in Seattle. Never really found anything more redeeming than that.
The Mission has some good food and good local coffee shops.
Potrero Hill has some really great houses and good views. Killer hills.
Etc.
