BMX - Im coming to America!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Only to Florida though, i'm coming with my friend and his family
We are looking into bringing out bikes, does anyone know the cost of doing this?
Would anyone be interested in meeting?

Oh, dear. It would be pretty expensive to bring your bike, and it will be a big hassle. Also, I'm interested in seeing how many people make fun of your accent. I'm near the opposite end of the east coast, so it's not such a great possibility.

EDIT: Eightdip is the new Borat.

Don't worry eightdip, no one will make fun of your accent. Brits in Florida are almost as common as gators in the Everglades. I think that ALL of my relatives have visited Florida multiple times, actually.
As to the bikes--it would probably be too dear to bring one over. Regular bikes can be hired, but I doubt that you'd find a BMX bike.
I'm out on the West Coast, so I don't think I'd make it, sorry!

It shouldn't be too much. Just call in to the airport or check their websites to see how much you have to take your bike apart. My friend said that he didn't really have to take anything apart just like turn the bars down and sideways and put the seat down.

Really? That's interesting to know. I should have checked first before spreading bogus info, eh?

i think you should just rent a bike. and I also think that Borat had too much simulated mansex to be considered "good" or even "acceptable"
I just threw up a little in my mouth thinking about it.

If you want, come over to St. Petersburg, Florida (by Tampa). I can meet you and show you around. Huge BMX scene here, as well as track bike/fixed gear.

they make hard bike cases that fit a roadbike when you take the wheels off and probably pedals too. They are meant for travel. You should fit a 20" no prob.
I hear you can't have grease in your bearings though, you could be hiding explosives. JUST KIDDING haha
