Natures redbull. Do any of you take "shots" or put it in a drink or eat it? It tastes like crap but seriously I took a shot today before my ride and pretty much couldn't stop riding! I'm hooked!
It's a miracle. Wait 'till the Pro Peloton finds out. I expect that WADA will be banning it by year's end.
Glad to see you have discovered something that gives you such significant benefit in such short order. Have you considered the possibility of the placebo effect?

Having a beer at the brewery after every group ride noticeably increases my speed for at least the final 10k of every ride. This has been proven on many rides, under many different conditions, on different bikes, and with different companions. Speeds increase immediately upon uttering the word "beer" and before any has even been consumed. I haven't tried a blind trial because I would crash immediately, much less a double blind trial. I don't know how you even do a double blind trial. I guess I should ask a lawyer.

the NCAHF seems to me like another group out there to try and convince people that natural health supplements dont work so that you go and invest in the governments form of "nutrition". like eating food loaded full of tons of hormons, steroids, and preservatives that fill our bodies with crap that causes cancer and kills us off so they can keep their country running the way they want it to. wheat grass is amazing stuff and they can say its a "placebo" all they want, cause they cant deny what IM feeling in my body, or dumpsterlifes.

:D Thank you...
I don't trust anything with the word National anyway. They always have outside interests.

Uh, yeah. Sure they are.
And nobody is denying what you feel. The placebo effect is very real. That's why well designed medical studies use double-blind testing methods.

lolololololololololol!
They serve that stuff at Jamba Juice. They make a ritual out of it. They put a little empty plastic cup on a tray, hand it to the customer, then fill it with fresh wheatgrass juice. Customer takes a shot and everyone oohs and aahs.
Freakin' weirdos.

just keep laughing.......funny how people take the word of some website, or doctor they dont know, and laugh at other people's ideas , who they also dont know. how assinine, and contradictory. do your OWN research, then make a decision based on YOUR findings, and im not even talking about just wheatgrass, thats on the low end of the totempole of natural and homeopathic remedies.your opinion is yours, mine is mine. welcome to an internet forum.

I did my own research on homeopathy and found the main concepts of "like cures like" and the "law of infinitesimals" to be pure BS.

what i love the most is how people literally get offended by how I choose to live my life.eating organically, not using modern medicines. hey if you want to eat processed food that is barely useable by your body go ahead, people bash dumpsterlife instantly saying" placebo effect", as if they know it all. what, some internet site told you??a scientest study? the FDA? all those opinions/"tests" are completely biased, because they are funded, and wouldnt survive or exist without the government. sure they could speak out against the government, and be shut down and erased from their positions and jobs. they basically have no choice but to agree.i wont even start about the cures for cancers that have been found, and exterminated as this is already becoming a political type thread ( yes i know its my fault).but i feel i should be allowed to stick up for myself a little bit.
anytime its brought up, people who dont eat/live naturally, (how we were inteded to live) INSTANTLY get defensive and say its BS, as if they are the all knowing masters of how to live and take care of themselves. im not saying there isn't great things in modern medicine and there is no doubt in severe cases of injury, or internal problems that its the only way youd have a chance to survive, but people live like they were born without an immune system. im not even saying this in an arguementive way, i just find it funny how people can get so MAD and offended for living a certain way. so continue to flame away, with the elementary ways of explaining how my life is a giant "placebo effect".
wheatgrass = total crock.
Wish I invented it, though....:(

From the NCAHF site:
Question: Is wheatgrass therapy intrinsically dangerous?
NCAHF: Not in the wheatgrass itself, but attendant risks include:
perforation of the bowel during enema tube insertion. This can introduce infectious agents into the bloodstream.\
Just be careful, kids! Easy does it...

I eat naturally too, but really, having a wheatgrass cocktail served to you on a serving tray is beyond eating isn't it?

kuan- yeah i would agree with you, but if thats what someone wants, then i dont know how anyone is in the place to say he shouldnt, thats basically my arguement here, not so much defending wheatgrass, like i said before.
aikigreg- although thats a better picture than the cat. of all the LOL, or ROFL pics on the internet, cant you guys find one a little more clever? maybe that fits this situation somehow?im sure if you look hard enough, you will.but i do like the bee, its good.

close, but does it count if there is no LOL, or ROFL. i dont know man, its just not quite as insulting if it doesnt fit the scenario of the "arguement". or should i say, battle of opinions? ya know through this conversation i've come to enjoy your attempts at squandering peoples ideas with a simple LOLOLOLOL or picture. it shows how confident you are in your opinions.
here is the funniest part, so this whole thread ive been thinking i take wheatgrass, and although it's somewhat true, what i actually take is called BARLEY GREEN. very similar i'm sure, but im guessing barley green has a little more nutritional value, so Dumpsterlife, maybe think of trying that out as well and see what you think.

See, that's what I thought, too, it doesn't have the same OOMPH.
BTW, I agree with you on many points - organic food and certain natural products are much better for you than their alternatives. I firmly believe that those who trust the FDA and USDA are blothering idiots. I just don't go full HippieNazi Doomsayer about it. And the whole "wheatgrass cures cancer and herpes too" has gone back and forth in popular opinion for decades now. Currently, everyones on about Noni and Acai juice. 6 months from now it'll be something else - whatever Oprah is hawking, I imagine.
Hell, I even ferment and drink Kombucha - but not because I believe is is a miracle cure as the hippies throw out - I like the taste and I get a metabolism boost from it, pure and simple.
Anyway, last one:

Barley green huh? How does it differ, or does it? I wonder where I could get some...I would definitely try it though.

aikigreg- im definately not a hippi-nazi nor do i think that it has powerful cure properties about it. what i feel, is most things like wheatgrass, or barley green, or any vitaimin or supplement makes our immune systems strong enough to where it can fight off anything, not cure things. sure if you get sick, which tends to me innevitable, taking natural supplements and such will help you kick it sooner. i wasn't trying to seem like a crazy freak about it, it just bothered me that everyone jumped on dumpsterlife like he was crazy. the know-it-all attitudes i run into that tell me homeopathic/natural things are a placebo drives me crazy, because thats how i live, so how can they even try to tell me im wrong, when i live it on a daily basis and see the results, ya know? especially on a biking nutrition forum where im sure there are a ton of people who live similar, or at least parallel lifestyles.thanks for talking so i know where you stand.
dumpsterlife- i honestly have no idea dude, but im going to go look right now and ill tell you what i can find.
after looking around on the internet, and seeing some replies on this thread,it seems to me that alot of people have run into people who go a little overboard about this topic, and act like its the answer to eternal life or something. what it is, is a great way to get your greens servings (like vegetables, fruits etc.), and help with a balanced nutritional lifestyle.
edit- ok i looked at 2 sites and they are basically the same thing, but what makes the difference is how rich the soil is that either of them are grown in. some say wheatgrass is a little less bitter than barley green. so maybe try some out.trying different brands of both wheatgrass and barley green could be a good idea as well.

Everyone seems to know it all when it comes to this stuff...call me crazy but I would rather eat papya enzyme then tums, rather eat rommaine then beef, and drink wheatgrass then red bull. So, whatever...ya know?
