Training & Nutrition - finally back on the bike! (with ankle brace)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I finally got back out there on the bike over the weekend! :D It had been nearly a month since I'd had a real ride, due to spraining my ankle and then spraining it again. :( Now, the road bike temporarily has platforms/mini clips borrowed from my other bike -- I have to ride while wearing an ankle brace.

Sitting it out was not easy. It was tough to watch my boyfriend go out riding when I could not. But, I'm back!

I rode for an hour yesterday and 1 1/2 hours today. Sure, my butt is a little sore, but that will improve soon.

(BTW, I figured that since I was essentially starting over, I'd buy a new saddle also. I'd been considering the Terry Butterfly for awhile anyway. So far, I LOVE it. Much more comfortable when I'm in the drops, too!)

My arms/neck have to get used to the road bike again as well. Should only take a couple more rides, I figure. :)

It's good to be back!

Cool... great to see you back in the saddle! It IS just like riding a horse, huh? ;)

Just remember, the slightest twinge, and you are totally back off the bike! Don't compromise your healing process if you don't have to.

I am glad to see you back, especially when the weather is turning out so well for us now!

I will be careful, Koffee. :) In the spirit of 'not doing anything stupid to myself', I'm taking a rest day today. My butt could use the break anyway. :D

Oh, and I won't even be attempting the clipless pedals for another month, at least. That would just generally be a BAD idea.
