I know that cruisers are not necessarily the focus of this group, but many of them are single speed nonetheless :). Now COSTCO during the winter months has been trying to offer a Schwinn 26" SS Cruiser with fenders and some front wheel suspension for $167.99 - I guess they did not sell, and so now - in time for beach season :) they reduced them to $129.99. I know they are very cheaply made, and may need some adjustments and component improvements, but I am curious if someone here bought one, and what their experience is.

At least it would be a cheap start to a SS Klunker build.

i have three.
-one i converted to a 3spd with a vintage SA hub.
-one i converted to a fixie with my old deep-v wheelset. (eggplant rear/red front)
-one i turned in to lawn art. doggies pee on it when they get walked down my street.
i like the third one the best.
i swear you guys have NO imagination.

If I lived on a beach, it'd be the only bike I'd own.
Think of it as 'Mao's Socialism Tool' and be happy.
