Just curious what people think of my nutrition plan for two tours that I am doing this year.
The first Tour is 8 days in Arizona and New Mexico.
The second Tour is across the USA.
The nutrition plans are on two pdf pages. All of the products are produced by Hammer Nutrition.

Having just done an AZ PAC Tour, Lon and Susan provide all the daytime food that you will need. You'll not lack for calories. In fact, I wouldn't worry about being too picky as you'll want the energy to ride.

I have heard some good things about the Hammer products in "ULTRACYCLING" but have no clue as to what it will cost you in addition to what you are paying Lon and Sue for food. I ate at one of their rest stops as I rode with them on day one of a Pactour. There was certainly enough varied food for almost anyone.

Thanks. Yes, Lon and Susan do provide a lot of food at their rest stops. A tandem and another rider will be working together on the Elite Tour. Our goal for the elite tour is to ride 70 miles at a shot and rest stops will last at most 10 minutes. Therefore, I will need to carry a lot of calories on the bike. For the cross country tours (this will be my third), you want to try to get as much rest time after the ride as possible. I will be at Lon and Susan's Mountain Tour next week and will be implementing this regiment for 8 days. I have used this philosophy on my training rides with no problems. If I ride every inch of the Elite Tour and qualify for RAAM, then for me the additional cost will be well worth it.
