The Apple web site has a feature on Trek bicycles and their use of Macs in the design process. An interesting look both as a feature into the use of computers in modern bicycle design and the procedures modern bicycle companies follow when designing new products.

Whatever gets the job done. I remember when SGIs were the tool for CAD work. However as time has gone on, I notice CAD/CAM shops using Macs for their work, even if they are running Windows on the Mac because the hardware is considered quality.

I'm not an Apple geek, nor do I really dislike Macs (although I can't stand some of the fanboism). I personally prefer a high-end Sun or IBM machine, but those are way out of most people's price ranges.
