I spent a lot of the time visiting my relatives and driving around the mountains. I tried to hook up with snowy but unfortunately, our schedules conflicted. I did get to talk to her on the phone and she is sweet as ever! :)

The first thing I noticed is that this area is really a haven for bikes. Bikes were EVERYWHERE!! Parking was not a problem in a very popular area called "Pearl Street Mall" because everyone used their bikes!!

I was scheduled for a fitting, and BOY do they get really detailed! I spent a few hours at the shop talking and getting to know the people there. I swear.....this shop is very unlike any others in the area. It is purely custom (I didn't know that). So I did not come home with a skinny tired bike. I was very impressed by his shop. Something only dreams are made of. You should see the neat old stuff he had around it - and the neat NEW stuff too. I got to touch all these really nice bikes that I have only HEARD of. I was in HEAVEN!!

Wow, Siu, you're a grand-auntie. I wish my grand-auntie mountain biked... Boulder a gold-level LAB Bicycle Friendly Community. (So is Portland.) It is wonderful to be able to easily get places by bike. Hope you had some fun doing that. :)

Thank you, Shadiyah! When I first saw your pic a long time ago I felt the enormous power of the woods. I know that Mich felt it with the coast as well. I definitely felt it with my nephew's shop. :)

Donna that is another idea that I can possibly consider. When I get my new UMB I plan to take it everywhere with me. I should have no problem with my back now! :D

No kidding! I was there over Thanksgiving at my sisters and bikers were everywhere. Made me wish I had taken my bike.

Hello to my sister!! I thought of you when I was there as well! There were all kinds of cyclist out and it looks as though they were training. Wonderful hills here, steep angles. I can see the strain in their faces and thanked God it wasn't me.......
