Foo - Computer exeperts? Shell Scripts

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I would like to do this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSF6Bz0EA3A
Using a shell script to access unviewble pics off myspace. :D
Does anyone know how to write one up?
I found this thread, but the link given make no sense. http://www.hackerthreads.org/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=25880
Thanks for any help
Please quit messaging me, asking me how to hack. If you have to ask that question, you should be banned from computers for LIFE. Do you want to know how to "hack"? Learn it yourself, just like everyone else. Oh, and for the record, this video doesn't show a "hack", and this method hasn't worked in months. Plus, to use it, you'd have to have access to a *nix shell, and I KNOW that if you ask how to hack, that you don't know what the hell a *nix shell is, much less know how to use one. So STOP MESSAGING ME ABOUT HOW TO HACK!
It's not really hacking, it's more like exploiting a URL flaw in MySpace. I took that URL flaw to the next level, and wrote a small shell script that downloads all the "private" photos via ftp. All that's needed for the script is the friendID number.
Why are you trying to look at private photos on myspace?

It's probably a matter of guessing what the filenames are and grabbing them. Make your photos private and then view the images and right click and view the image property and see what the url is.
Chances are you can access the url without any authentication and chances are there is a very discernible pattern to the filenames.

Because it's the closest thing to the Wild, Wild West that this generation has to brave.
the links given do make sense, they are links to the tools and instructions for the tools you will need:putty, bash shell scripting, free shell account in case you dont have linux, and the ftp protocol
what it doesnt do it give you a step by step guide, but the video has lots of hints, googlevideo and youtube are full of ways to hack myspace
looks like you find the myspace account you want, take the suffix in the URL, and run a shell script youve uploaded to a shell account via putty on a windows box and the script uses ftp to snatch the files

Sad, but true. Might as well dick around while we can. But yeah, burn a linux livecd and use wget? Not that it'd work, which seems to be the case based on my troll's picture locations. That being said, I doubt they use the output of some relatively random (meaning not understood by us) signal like microphone input, or CPU temp, or whatever, and use it for the picture names. There's probably some kind of pattern to the picture names/locations, aka algorithm used... :D

+1 to the wget method. As a last resort, install cygwin and run it from your Windows machine.
If you are really bored, Acrobat can spider a website, stuffing the contents into a PDF.

Or you can get like only 10 million Wget alternatives that don't require some stupid sublayer or use WSH, the syntax of which is nothing like confusing Perl, Korn or etc.
uhh I have wget.exe that works fine on XP without any bizarre libraries or frameworks.
I don't have time to help you "hack" myspace, but their photo URL scheme is, IIRC, predictable.
Also, if you think grabbing private photos from myspace is the closest thing to the wild, wild west of teh intarwebs, that's very sad.

You obviously failed to grasp the analogy :p. The statement did not imply that that was the "wildest thing on the intarweb". It was stated that using the internet in this and millions of other ways that kids and adults do now a days Is the closest that most get to the Wild Wild west. To understand what the Wild Wild West was for both adventurers and normal people read a bunch of books from those times :)
Wheteher you're hacking myspace, hacking a website, or chatting on the internet - it has become what hunting, and playing Indians and hiking and riding horses was for the yesteryear generation.
I'm really disappointed that that had to be explained
Well, if you read the post I mentioned, it looks an awful lot like you implied that "looking at private photos on myspace is the closest thing to the Wild, Wild West that this generation has to brave."
I get the point, but it wasn't as crystal clear as you wanted it to be.
