I am in the process of relacing my rear wheel. Can a 24 spoke wheel be laced up 3 cross on the drive side and 2 cross on the non-drive side? I thought I would give it a try but I am not sure that it can work. Anyone ever try or know if it will work? Thanks

I would go 2X drive and radial non-drive myself. I don't remember the rule of thumb for crosses but for sure 3X on a 24 spoke is out of bounds.

I'd do 2 cross on both sides too.

The rule of thumb for maximum crosses is a factor of 9 so 24 spokes is going to give you 2 and a fraction. If you try to cross too many you can encounter problems on both ends of the spoke. At the hub sometimes the spokes going one way block the holes for the spokes going the other way. At the rim the spokes approach at too much of an angle.

Yeah, 2 cross is best on a 24 spoke wheel. 3 cross will actually cause the spokes to rub against the hub because they go past tangential. As mentioned above, you could radial the non-drive side, but I would do 2x on the drive side for sure.

Could do crow foot on one side. Looks kinda cool

Thanks for the info! I don't think this is the best hub for radial on the non drive side so I am going to go safe with 2 cross on both sides.
