I'm looking for a framebuilder to replace the dropouts on a steel frame. I already have the dropouts, and I'll handle the paint myself. Does anyone know who can take on this job in the South Bay area? Thanks

Dave W.

Jon Tallerico used to build steel frames. He worked out of The Bicycle Outfitter in Los Altos. I don't know if he's still in business. I found a this number for him but it might be out of date:

Thanks Steve, I'll give him a call.

I'd also give Terry at call at Shaw's lightweight Bicycles and George at Slough's Bike Shoppe. If anyone knows of a local frame builder, they certainly would.

Terry Shaw will probably be your best bet for a referral.

BTW I just got a recommendation from George Slough at slough's to call Dale Saso, who's local to SJ. I saw a 'demo' Saso frame at Sloughs and it was darn nice. googling around a bit i found an ACTC guy who has a Saso frame, here's his pics:

Here's Saso's blurb from romp with his phone number (though his website seems to be down)
