Mountain Biking - Best XC/freeride Tire!

Hey, could I get some opinions on the best XC or freeride tire that is approximately 2.3"...I ride a hardtail but doing some pretty technical stuff including stunts, so Im looking for a tire that'll really stick (i.e. wide) but also not slow me down too much when crankin'

IRC Kujo 2.35s or Tioga Factory DH 2.3s will both work pretty well, depending on what you ride. Kujos for dry, Tioga for wet.

Maxxis Highroller is on of my favorite. :)

The Weirwolf 2.4 is FANTASTIC.

Just got the Michelin DH 2.2's. Rode all day on them yesterday and loved it. Good grip and fast rolling on dirt and trails, but found them to be a little soft on pavement. Pretty wide for a 2.2

Ok believe it or not but i think that the cheap Bontrager Connection Trail 26 x 2.0's have worked great for me. I Ride on the road, side walks hilly trails and streets and some other light to medium trails. Today it rained a bunch and we got this puddle/mud puddle that was about 4 to 5" deep. Also i rode on some trails near our house that were quite muddy. All i did was just deflate the tires to 25/30 PSI and they worked great. Usually i ride with them at 60 PSI on dry surfaces and they perform quite well.:D:D:D:D:D

Monorails are nice by Maxxis. They say 2.1 but size more like a 2.2 I think. Very reliable in the turns.

Maybe not. I research inner tubes for at least 8 months before buying. Gotta get the right ones, you know?

these are the worst trail tires I've ridden.
I only keep them as my beater tires now, mostly used for partly paved trails or if I have to commute somewhere.

When I bought my roadie I noticed some mtb tires that I have been wanting to try but have not found at any other shops. They are Syncros Point 'N Chute 2.35 (http://www.syncros.com/tires.htm)

I asked the owner if the tires worked pretty good and he said he now runs them on all his mt bikes since his distributor first introduced him to the tire and he can ride and ride a lot he does.

I bought them and this is what I experienced ...
They roll very fast, stick like glue in loose top soil, hard pack and slick rock and can take a beating. The sidewalls were being smashed aginst some sharp edged rocks the other day with lower then preferred psi and I had no problems with them.

I am going to order up a set of the 2.5's for the dh rig and see how they work for that but I would guess it will be the same.

Granted, you may have very different terrain/soil conditions so they may not work but out here in SoCal they seem to be the perfect tire.
