hi there

i bought an iguana giant in taiwan last year - with a few modifications
because i needed a light bike and didn't want to buy a full suspension bike
one of the changes we made was to replace the seatpost with a suspension one
it worked fine when i bought it and the salesman explained and demonstrated how to use it
i didn't think much of it at the time as i was trying to follow the instructions (in chinese!) of how to assemble it when i got to japan
that part worked out but the suspension of the seatpost didn't
i tried going to many different shops for some info (here in nagoya, montreal and even ilo ilo in the philippines during a recent trip)
taking the bike with me whenever i could
if they had even heard of such a thing
they had no idea what the air pump at the bottom nor the air valve on the top side were for

so now, here i am with a great bike, a suspension seatpost that cost quite a bit but is as rigid as a regular seatpost
i'd give anything for some info/advice/suggestions as i'm not going back to taiwan anytime soon
thanks
t.

thanks for the reply and the links
ks (kind shock) is exactly what i have
and i'm not surprised to find out that they are based in tainan where i bought the bike
i clearly missed the part that the air pump is an added bonus
and now the suspension works too
took a year to figure it out
what a shame
thanks a mil
