It's finally warming up here, so those weeks I am actually in my office, I try to take a ride on my bike. Today's was pretty typical. Rode out to the end of the south pier which juts out into Lake Michigan a respectable distance. Nicer weather means the fisherman were out. As I was riding by, a young man was wrestling a brown trout onto the pier. I stopped and worked his net for him. Nice fish.
Continuing on, I ride the path along the lake past all the statuary, and where there will be a dozen or so packed beach volleyball courts set up this summer, then go up a short hill. I then take the path down through another park. Do a short loop, ride up some more hill, then ride along the bluff past more statues and memorials to various conflicts.
Down a hill, across a drawbridge, past the large city marina, and I'm in another park. This time I take the north pier out to the end where our lighthouse (which was on a postage stamp) sits. That's it in my Avatar.
Back through the park, then another path through some countryside and I'm going along an open area that has flowers beginning to bloom.
Staying on the path, back across the drawbridge, down, then back up a hill and I'm back at my office.
Ten quick miles of nice riding. This is more like it.
Anyone else try to get in bicycle nooners now that the weather is starting to cooperate?
