Foo - Jobs you can do on a bicycle?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm moving to Chicago to finish my degree, and I'm going to be needing a part-time job like you can't believe. What kind of jobs are there that require you to ride a bike (at least through the summer)? Do people still use bike couriers in this day and age? Sandwich delivery man? Windshield-washing hobo? Where should I start my jobhunt? Thanks BF!
Bicycle thief? You'd get to ride 'em after you stole them.

I suspect you can find delivery-type jobs in downtown Chicago.
Appreciate it - where I grew up you needed a car to do any sort of delivery job, and I didn't know if bicycle couriers still existed.

There are still bike messengers usually they wantyou to have lived in the area forawhile soyou knowthe best/fastest routes. also youmight try parks and rec, in some counties they have help watching the multi use paths mostly for assistance rather than policing them
i'd recommend fighting crime, most cyclists have the flamboyant costumes anyway

Here are some possible positions I'd recommend for people who use bicycles. This list is for anyone else who should read it, too.
1. Bicycle Police.
2. Private Security Officer.
3. Paramedic (some cities and towns do have bicycle-mounted paramedics who carry a limited
amount of first aid equipment).
4. Bicycle Courier.
5. Deliveryperson (sandwiches, newspapers, etc).
6. Bicycle Tour Leader.
7. Pedicab Driver.
